2008 IDDBA President's
Award Presented to Ed Meyer
For Immediate Release
Madison, WI, July 1, 2008 — Rick Goodman,
President of the International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association,
presented the 2008 President's Award to Ed Meyer, Schnuck
Markets, Inc. at the Awards Banquet on June 3rd. Every year the
IDDBA president selects a recipient based on his or her distinguished
service or contribution to the industry.
The award read:
The IDDBA President's Award is given
to an individual who has made an extraordinary commitment to serving
a cause, an organization, an industry, or a country.
We are pleased to give the 2008 IDDBA President's Award
to a man who has devoted his personal and professional life to
making our industry a better place.
His passion and enthusiasm for excellence have been demonstrated
in his service to his company, his community, and to this organization.
He has been the chairman or served on every IDDBA committee, including
the Retail Advisory Committee. He has served on the Board of Directors
since 1993 and was the President of the IDDBA in 1998-99.
His vision, leadership and work ethic have been an inspiration
to us all.
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the International Dairy-Deli-Bakery
Association, the entire membership, and our grateful industry,
we salute one of the true leaders of our time.
We are humbled by his commitment and honored by his dedication
and service to an industry that is far, far better because of
him.
Ed Meyer is Vice President of Meat and Seafood at Schnuck Markets,
Inc. in St. Louis, Missouri and has 32 years of experience in the
Retail Supermarket Industry, primarily in the Meat, Deli, Seafood
and Prepared Food areas. Meyer's commitment to IDDBA goes
back almost two decades, with service on the Board of Directors
longer than anyone else. Presently, he serves on the Board, the
Retail Advisory Committee, Past Presidents Committee, Deli Steering
Committee, and Marketing Research Committee.
