The SuperSkills: Controlling Shrink™ program includes:
- Training Workbook (You print as many workbooks as you need from a PDF
master.)
The 40-page workbook will teach deli and bakery associates
- differences between known shrink and unknown shrink
- how to calculate shrink
- ways to reduce shrink through:
- proper receiving/storage
- proper merchandising
- proper ordering/production planning
- correcting errors that can lead to deli and bakery shrink
- awareness of dishonest and illegal actions:
- grazing
- sweethearting
- theft
- vendor gifts/kickbacks

Description
Shrink eats away at deli and bakery department net profits.
Every $1 lost to shrink requires a $50 increase in sales (assumes store
net profit margin is 2%). Short product shelf-life, high labor costs, and errors
take their toll quickly. Most shrink is caused by people, so knowledgeable associates
are key to reducing it. IDDBA's new SuperSkills: Controlling Shrink
perishable-focused training program can help you build a culture around shrink
awareness. It teaches staff how their actions affect shrink daily, and how they
can play a critical role in gathering information necessary to track and
reduce shrink.
